The truth about dog training

In the U.K., dog training is an unregulated industry. That means that basically, anyone can decide to call themselves a trainer and claim to be an ‘expert’ without having done a day of study. There’s so much new research happening all the time, and it’s vital for all dog professionals to keep up-to-date with new developments, enhance their own understanding and adapt to new ways of thinking.

This is why it’s SO important to ask about your trainer’s qualifications and to find out if they’re a member of any professional bodies that promote good ethics and CPD.

Learning is a passion of mine, and I commit to doing at least 20 hours of CPD annually with my membership of NICE (The National Institute of Canine Ethics). Additionally, I’m currently studying a second diploma - this time on Aggressive Responses - which is so fun. I can’t wait to tell you about the next one I’ve got my eye on… 👀

I display all of my qualifications and memberships loud and proud on my website - check out the landing page to find out more.
